Sven With His R-1 Button

Here is a picture of Sven Ludvquist-O-Brien, an ardent R1 supporter, modeling his summer attire, including his reproduction of the black R-1 button that some folks may want to wear at upcoming meetings of the Community Advisory Committee. You can't wear his, but you can get one of your own.

For the January 11, 2007 meeting and especially for the January 18 Open Forum, Sven would like everyone who opposes Mr. Bisno's plans to build 2,300 homes at Ponte Vista to wear their insignia of protest to his plans.

At a meeting last November, Sven was amazed at the number of yellow tags worn by supporters of Mr. Bisno's plans. Sven is sure there are more protesters out there than supporters of Mr. Bisno. Sven is calling on everyone to show up and let Mr. Bisno and civic leaders know they do not want such a massive development in northwest San Pedro.

The buttons are FREE!!! Yes folks, Mark makes up all the black "R-1" buttons and gives them away, with the help of some great people. Andrea Adleman, who you can reach via Coastal San Pedro Neighborhood Council http://www.cspnc.com/index.html has a supply of buttons. Mark's wife Terri has buttons to distribute, too.

You can Email M Richards at the address at the top of the blog to find out how you can get buttons.

Buttons will also be available at the upcoming meetings. Ask around when you get there and somebody should know who to see to get a button. Perhaps you can introduce yourself to Mark Wells and he could direct you to a source for buttons.

Heck, it is one way we can show our friends and neighbors what "ranting elitists" really look like, while not having to spend large amounts of dollars buying or leasing a black Rolls Royce.
