Odds and Ends 16

Another week has gone by, and nothing has been resolved with what will finally be built at Ponte Vista. It is probably 6-8 months too early to see what the City Council may approve or reject.

Bob Bison will reveal his "new" proposal on or about June 18. Bob did state that he will take into consideration traffic numbers and studies supplied to him by his engineers, Mr. Jerry Gaines, and Mr. Pat Nave. I think this is a decent step for Mr. Bisno to take and I thank him for that.

On June 12, at the Peck Park Community Center, at 7:00 PM, the third meeting of supporters of R1 at Ponte Vista will be held. During that meeting, a candidates forum will also be provided to any person seeking seats on the Boards of Northwest and Central San Pedro Neighborhood Council. If you want to get to know the candidates better, please attend.

Unfortunately the war goes on, with the folks at Bisno Development not willing to step in and attempt to corral the other. It seems to me that if Bisno Development is not willing to help us all out, then they are creating tacit support for the other's blog and that will only hurt them.

Trivia:

The gross acreage of the Ponte Vista at San Pedro site is 61.53 acres, gross. According to the lot summary of the original plan, 50.79 acres net would be used. The 10.74 acre difference is stated to be private streets.

Also on June 12, the Board of Central San Pedro Neighborhood Council is scheduled to meet. I have no idea what fireworks may happen as their President, Mr. Joe Gatlin stated that a resolution he signed endorses Mr. Bisno's plans, when the individuals who crafted the resolution claim that it was not an endorsement of Mr. Bisno's plan. This will be dealt with more When I learn from more members of the land use committee than I have talked to already.

A member of the Board of Central San Pedro Neighborhood Council has affirmed that members and supporters of R Neighborhoods Are 1 are stakeholders in that organization. This does not meat the same individuals would also qualify as stakeholders in Northwest Coastal simply by their membership or support of the R1 group, but it does mean those folks who wish to, may cast ballots for the candidates of their choice at the July 10, 2007 election of at-large members of the Board.

There has also been information revealed that Mr. Joe Gatlin, also a member of the Board of Northwest S.P. Neighborhood Council has a slate of candidates set to run in Northwest's election.

I can state now that the Bisno Development Corporation is STAYING OUT of the elections in Northwest and Central, according to a very high level person in that organization.

What was attempted by the Bisno group at the last Northwest election was considered very bad and only one of their candidates won a position on Northwest's Board, with the others failing miserably.
