Central San Pedro Neighborhood Council Election

Tuesday July 10 finds the election of twelve "at-large" seats to the Board of Central San Pedro Neighborhood Council.

The Steering Committee of R Neighborhoods Are 1 recommends the following candidates:
Kara McCleod
Sue Castillo
John Delgado
Dan Pasley
Phil Roberson
Carrie Scoville
Andrew Silber

Anyone who signed the "R1" petition is a member of R Neighborhoods Are 1 and therefore qualified to vote in this election. For more information, please visit http://www.centralspnc.org/.

It is no secret that the President of Central San Pedro Neighborhood Council, Mr. Joe Gatlin is a Bisno supporter. Mr. Gatlin was a member of at least on of Bob's Advisory Boards until, for reasons not really given in public, Mr. Gatlin decided to remove himself from that membership.

It also is not a very well kept secret that many current members of the Board have trouble making the required meeting dates and times. With several meetings lately not having a quorum to conduct needed business, and the apparent support by Board members of Bob's project, which isn't even in the Council's boundaries, I think a "house cleaning" may be in order for that board. It is just my opinion about that folks, and not an opinion generated by any others on the Steering Committee.

San Pedro is served well by Northwest and Central Neighborhood Councils. I feel it can be served better with the election to the Board of Central, of the candidates listed above.

Just "fixing" Central's Web site does not in any way indicate that the Board of Central is getting their act back together, in my opinion.

As long as folks still have the right to vote, I think those folks who have an opinion and wish to have their rights protected and used, should vote.

OOPS!!!!

It looks like the Forum is back "under construction". That is too bad. The forum was a place of free expression and it seems that the day before the election, the freedom of expression on that forum, within Central's Web site, is gone again. I wonder if the forum will still be "under construction" when the elections for Coastal San Pedro Neighborhood Council come around.

It sure looks kind of bad, I think, when such a re engineered Web site continues to have a problem with their Forum. It seems that the graphics and much of the content don't seem to go down, only the Forum continues to have issues. I am just going to let the current folks at Central continue to claim whatever they claim is going on with their Forum. If you believe them, that is your opinion. It just seems too coincidental that the Forum continues to have problems when opinions expressed on it don't seem to jive with the Forum's moderator or administrator.

Don't get me wrong though, I am sure it is only one or two people who have any say about the Forum and if we believe those who have written to me about the problems with the Forum, it is innocent. Of course everyone should know that as of the last time I had a chance to look at the Forum there were only four members, including me. It is a molehill, a very, very small molehill, but is has been somewhat humorous to me to watch the machinations.

Again, if you folks don't want to be offended by foul words, please don't view any comments for the time being. If you don't care about reading foul and vulgar words, there are some folks who are commenting on this blog that have some good points and are bringing up intelligent points.

One last thing. A wonderful fellow I know wished for and had created a new button. It says just what he wanted to say and it applies very well with this post. It simply says: "If You Don't Vote....You Don't Count!
